The Mudd Club was a nightclub in New York City during the late 1970s and early 1980s which attracted an array of musicians, artists, celebrities, and quasipunks. The scene was a precursor to the emergence of the next generation of NYC underground stars who were emerging at Pyramid and Club 57. The Mudd Club star Marilyn Horan, lead singer of Marilyn and the Movie Stars, became one of Johanna and ANOHNI’s earliest NYC inspirations.
