Feminine Empathy Shop FUTURE FEMINISM Tenet I

FUTURE FEMINISM Tenet I

$1,200.00

“The subjugation of women and the earth is one and the same”

(Rose onyx hand-engraved stone fragment; 2025)

ANOHNI carved the 13 tenets of Future Feminism, a feminfesto that she developed with Kembra Pfahler, Johanna Constantine and Bianca and Sierra Casady in 2012, into pieces of rose onyx. “13 Tenets Future Feminism” was first presented at Hole Gallery, NYC in 2013, just prior to the emergence of the #Metoo movement. The final tenet was widely reproduced on T-shirts around the world, although it was only within the broader context of the “13 Tenets of Future Feminism” that the idea “The Future is Female” had pointed resonance. Here now, during time in which patriarchy is again ascendant, ANOHNI revisits this work in a very personal way, scrawling ideas into fragments of stones with a small knife.

The world was subsequently presented as part of European Capital of Culture, Aarhus in 2017, and at the Holland Festival in 2023, each time within a framework of circles and panels by artists, activists, politicians and scientists.

Dimensions L 12 X W 13 X H ¾ in.
